AKD Securities, EOBI case
KARACHI: The head of the Corporate Governance Committee (CGC) of Stock Exchange, Yasin Lakhani, did not appear before the FIA investigation team in the case of the AKD Securities and the EOBI for inflicting loss of several million rupees to the national exchequer. The FIA has notified the party once again to appear on Monday.
Sources said the FIA corporate crime circle’s investigation team found during the investigation that the then chairman of the EOBI Zafar Gondal, DG Investment Wahid Khurshid and high officials of the CEO of the AKD Securities and others are involved in purchasing the shares of the Amtex Company at very high price. While others involved in giving clearance to the bank defaulter Amtex Company as analyst of the Stock Exchange are Yasin Lakhani of the Corporate Governance Committee and seven other members. They had been summoned on Friday for recording their statements but they failed to appear in the office of the FIA. However, a notice has been sent to them through SECP to appear on Monday.
