Islamabad: Senator Raheela Magsi was unanimously elected as the chairwoman of the Senate Standing Committee on Education, Training and Standards in Higher Education during the elections held at Parliament House on Friday.
The election was conducted by Additional Secretary (Committees) Muhammad Hassan Khan, in accordance with Rule 184 (1) of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the Senate, 2012.
The name of Senator Raheela Magsi was proposed for Chairmanship by Sehar Kamran and seconded by Senators Javed Abbasi and Khushbakht Shujaat.
The newly elected chairperson received warm greetings from the members of their committees and pledged to make the committee system more effective and vibrant.
Senator Raheela Magsi thanked senators for their cooperation in her election and assured them of working with commitment in running affairs of the committees smoothly and for the improvement of education sector with dedication and sincerity.
