Career Expo held at Bahria University

Bahria University organised Career Expo’16 here on Tuesday. The objective was to bring job seekers and employers under one roof and to guide candidates on various career paths and innovative job hunt tactics. The job fair served as a cost-effective way for the organisations to directly interact with prospective candidates and recruit the required talent without going through of traditional hiring practices.

Bahria University Rector Vice Admiral (r) Tanveer Faiz, HI (M), inaugurated the event. Other senior management of university, alumni and potential employers were also present at the occasion. The Career Expo ’16 provided a unique forum to connect employers who offer career opportunities with candidates from Bahria University. The industry players as well as human resources experts from top organizations gave an overview of the various industries’ update on HR demands, entry requirement and career prospects. The event was arranged with an objective of not only connecting top talent with great employers but also to provide a great opportunity for students and alumni to learn about job openings, research companies and practice their interviewing and networking skills.

Around 70 leading companies of telecom, FMCG, services, manufacturing, NGOs and banking sectors participated in the Career Expo. The main highlight of the job fair included giving job seekers the opportunity to meet with employers at Bahria University. Other resources that were available included career counseling professionals. The event continued for the whole day during which the employers conducted on spot interviews and selected the candidates as per their requirement.

Over 2,000 current students and 500 alumni appeared for interviews and explored career opportunities.
