SARGODHA: At least four dacoits were killed in an alleged police encounter in Sargodha late on Monday night, police said.
According to police, a total of eight miscreants were looting the commuters at Madh Ranjha Kot Momin Road when exchange of fire took place with them.
In the shootout, four dacoits were killed and four other managed to flee.
The outlaws killed in the encounter have been identified as Allayar, Bilal Ahmed, Babar Ali and Asad Waqas, police said. They were proclaimed offender and authorities concerned had put head money on them.
Police have cordoned off the area and launched search operation for the arrest of runaway dacoits.
