AUCKLAND: Pakistani cricketer Sarfaraz Ahmed, the star of yesterday’s match against South Africa, said on Sunday that he has never had any dispute with Coach Waqar Younis and in fact he considered him as his big brother.

He went on to say that even if Waqar ever said anything to him, he would not reply back to him in an inappropriate manner.

Sarfaraz further said that Team Pakistan’s moment was now being built up, therefore no one should try and create any disputes to mar the excelling team performance.

On March 7, during a post press conference of the Pakistan-South Africa clash, Waqar abruptly ended the question-answer session when he was asked whether his decision to keep Sarfaraz off the field in earlier matches was in anyway due to a rumoured argument between Sarfaraz and himself.

The coach ended the press conference saying he didn’t have time for “stupid-questions”.

The match yesterday, which saw Pakistan beat South Africa, also witnessed man-of-the-match Sarfraz Ahmed equaling the world record for catches by a wicketkeeper in a one-day international with six dismissals, taking his final catch as rain swept across the ground. He also scored 49 runs as an opener.
