PESHAWAR: Taking cognizance of a complaint, the provincial police chief has suspended two Investigation Officers (IOs) of the Cantt Division Peshawar.
Upon the directives by Inspector General of Police Nasir Khan Durrani, the Superintendent of Police Cantt probed the matter and found that investigation officers had intentionally carried out a faulty investigation and exonerated a fellow police official.
The IGP suspended both the officers. He directed the SSP operation to investigate the case personally and if the police constable was found guilty, he should be arrested and put behind bars.
The complainant had appeared before the IGP and complained about involvement of a police constable in a murder case at Nasir Bagh subdivision. He said the investigation staff willfully exempted him from the process of law.
