The Meteorological Office on Thursday forecast extremely cold and dry weather in most parts of the country, including Islamabad and Rawalpindi, for the next 48 hours.
It said there was a high likelihood of morning frost occurring in the twin cities on Friday and Saturday.
According to an official of the Meteorological Office, extremely cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country, including Islamabad and Rawalpindi, during the next 24 hours.
However, partly cloudy weather conditions with light rain (light snow over the hills) is expected at one or two places in Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
The official said frost was expected in Islamabad, Potohar region, including Rawalpindi, Attock and Chakwal, and plains of Punjab and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa during the next 24 hours.
As for the next 48 hours, he said very cold and dry weather was expected in most parts of the country with Islamabad, Potohar region and plains of Punjab and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa seeing frost in the morning.
The official said the minimum temperature recorded on Thursday was zero degree centigrade in Islamabad and Rawalpindi with very cold and dry weather.
As for other cities, two degrees centigrade with cold and dry weather was recorded in Lahore; nine degree centigrade with dry weather in Karachi; one degree centigrade with cold and dry weather in Peshawar, and minus seven degree centigrade with very cold and dry weather in Quetta.
