Three children knocked dead by water tanker

At least six people, including three minor children, were killed and 15 others were injured in separate road accidents on Monday.
A seven-year-old identified as Badri Zareena daughter of Qari Mehmoob, Azam son of Nadeem, and six-year-old Shakir Ali son of Rehmat Ali died after a speeding water tanker ran them over in the Khairabad area, within Manghopir police limits.
Six-year-old Usman, eight-year-old Shazad and seven-year-old Saram suffered serious injuries in the incident.
As per eyewitness accounts, the children had left a madrassa in Orangi Town’s Khairabad area when the accident occurred.
According to the police, two water tankers were racing when one of them lost control of his vehicle and ran over the children who were walking along a footpath.
The driver managed to flee from the spot, while the police impounded the vehicle and registered a case.
In a press statement issued on Monday, the MQM Rabita Committee expressed grief and sorrow over the tragic incident. The statement said that road accidents had become a common occurrence due to the criminal negligence of drivers.

Three die, several injured
Two unidentified men, who appeared to be in their mid-30s, died when a speeding car crashed into their motorcycle near the Toll Plaza in Gadap City police area. Their bodies were shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for legal formalities.
Another unidentified man was killed when a vehicle ran him over as he was crossing a road in the Baldia Town police jurisdiction.
In the same police limits, at least 12 bus passengers including two women were injured when speeding oil tanker collided with a bus near Raees Goth.
