ANF recovers huge quantity of drugs, arrests six

Rawalpindi: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF), in five countrywide operations against drug trafficking, recovered 505 kilograms of ‘Charas’, 900 grams of Ice (Amphetamine) and 70 kilograms of poppy nectar, the ANF headquarters said.

Operations were conducted at Islamabad, Jhelum, Chaghi and Loralai. The ANF also arrested six persons involved in drug smuggling and seized two vehicles. The worth of the recovered drug was approximately Rs1.21 bn in international market.The ANF Quetta carried out a successful intelligence-based operation and seized 500kg ‘Charas’ from the desolate area of Killi Kurnak, Chattar, Tehsil Dalbandin, District Chaghi.
The ‘Charas’ was packed in plastic bags and was buried at a hidden site situated in the mountainous terrain outside the populated area. As per initial information, the drug consignment was placed at a cache site for handing it over to some other narcotics gang. The drug was to be transported to some safe location at the coastal belt for onward smuggling abroad via sea route. The ANF Quetta intercepted a suspected car in District Loralai. On search of the car, 70kg fresh poppy straws were discovered.
