Three labourers feared dead due to landsliding near Taxila

WAH CANTT: Three labourers working at a stone crusher plant in Margalla Hills near Taxila were feared dead as they were buried under the landsliding debris on Friday.
According to Assistant Commissioner Shahid Imran, the stone crusher number 11 operating on the eastern side of Margalla hills came under heavy debris due to land sliding after blasting of the mountain. Five workers along with the excavator and shawl were buried under the heavy debris of rocks.
Labourers working in nearby stone crusher plants rushed to the site and started rescue operation. Two labourers Farman Ali and Muhammad Suleman were retrieved from the debris and shifted to a local hospital while three others were stated to be still under debris.
Rescue-1122 personnel were called from Rawalpindi, who were trying to the rescue the buried labourers with the help of heavy machinery till filing of this report.
Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has taken notice of the incident and directed the local administration to expedite operation for safe recovery of the trapped laborers. He also expressed sorrow and grief over the incident.
