PML-N finalises strategy for Maryam’s NAB appearance
LAHORE: The Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) held another consultative meeting to devise its strategy about the appearance of Maryam Nawaz in the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) offices on Friday, March 26, 2021.
The meeting was held under the chairmanship of opposition leader in the Punjab Assembly Hamza Shahbaz, also central vice president of the PML-N. Various PML-N leaders including Ahsan Iqbal, Mian Javed Latif, Saad Rafique, Aurangzeb, Pervaiz Rashid, Attaullah Tarar, Salma Butt, etc. participated in the meeting.
Party sources said the meeting also reviewed the statements of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and decided to contact Maulana Fazlur Rehman in that regard.
Sources said Daska by-election was also discussed in the meeting. Hamza Shahbaz directed the party leaders to hold corner meetings at the level of union councils in Daska. He also directed the party leaders to mobilise party workers to reach outside the NAB offices on March 26 to express solidarity with Maryam Nawaz. INP adds: The PML-N Tuesday finalised its strategy ahead of Maryam Nawaz appearance before the NAB investigators on March 26, according to sources.
The political party would establish camps to welcome the party vice president at Adda Plot, Raiwind Road, and Thokar Niaz Baig, added the sources. PML-N central leaders including Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Ahsan Iqbal, Rana Sanaullah and others would lead the PML-N workers rallies outside the NAB offices.
Maryam Nawaz would be accompanied by Hamza Shahbaz and Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) leaders, added the sources. The PML-N workers would hold a sit-in outside the NAB Lahore office if Maryam Nawaz was arrested at the NAB offices. However, the leadership directed the party activists to remain peaceful.
