A month back there was an uproar about private schools in Punjab overcharging their students, but has anybody ever thought about the plight of the teachers employed at these private schools? Education has become commercialised through privatisation, making it easier for school owners to exploit their staff, especially the teachers.
Given that teachers in the private sector are more susceptible to mistreatment by school owners, they should be given competitive financial packages as compared to public-sector teachers.
