DAGGAR: Accusing the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government of spreading vulgarity and promoting western agenda, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) head Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Sunday said that Pakistan came into being due to the unprecedented sacrifices of the Ulema and they would spare no effort to protect it.
Addressing the well-attended Mehmood Ghaznavi Conference at Sawari Bazaar here, he said that the Western lobby had waged a war on Muslim countries, including Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Libya, Tunis, Yemen and Pakistan, to pave the way for its imperialist economy.
JUI-F leaders Deputy Chairman Senate Abdul Ghafoor Haideri, federal Minister for Housing and Works Akram Khan Durrani, Maulana Amjad, Mufti Kifayatullah, Maulana Shujaaul Mulk, Mufti Fazal Ghafoor, Sardar Ali Khan, Saeedur Rehman Mufakir, Istiqbal Khan and others spoke on the occasion.
Fazlur Rehman accused the West of conspiring against Islam and Muslims. He said that Islam taught peace, love, harmony and humanity. He bitterly criticised the government for labeling the country as a liberal state, adding that Pakistan was created in the name of Islam.
Expressing concern over government policy towards seminaries, the JUI-F leader maintained the ulema, mosques and seminaries were spreading Islamic teachings. He declared that his party would play its due role for the protection of Islamic values in Pakistan.
Fazlur Rehman said that nobody would be allowed to amend the blasphemy law and remove Islamic lessons from the textbooks.
He accused the PTI government of promoting vulgarity, obscenity and secularism. He alleged that the Western lobby had plotted to help the Imran Khan-led party reach the corridors of power to harm Pakhtun traditions and remove love from the hearts of Pakhtuns for Islam.
