Prince William frustrated as legal hurdles keeping Andrew in royal line of succession
Prince William frustrated that Ex-Prince Andrew remains in line to the throne despite Jeffrey Epstein links
Prince William is said to be deeply unhappy about former Prince Andrew still holding a place in the royal line of succession even though King Charles has removed his royal titles.
The royal family has been trying to distance themselves from Andrew due to intense scrutiny on him due to his past ties with convicted sex offender, Jeffrey Epstein.
According to Radar Online, the Prince of Wales feels uncomfortable that Andrew continues to retain the constitutional status of being eighth in line to the throne.
"William feels increasingly uneasy, even grubby, that such a significant royal honor is still attached to Andrew. It cuts against everything the monarchy is trying to represent, and it is something he finds very difficult to reconcile," a source said.
They added, "There is real anger behind the scenes because while the public mood is overwhelmingly clear, the system is so entrenched and complicated that it prevents swift action. That tension is what is driving so much of the frustration."
As per reports, it is not easy to remove Andrew from line of succession as any change would also require agreement from all Commonwealth realms under the Statute of Westminster 1931.
These legal issues have senior royals frustrated, the source noted, but as for now there is no quick constitutional way to remove him.
"There is ongoing work to understand whether it is even feasible to remove him as an individual without triggering wider constitutional consequences,” a parliamentary insider said.
“That uncertainty is part of what is fueling the frustration at the highest levels. But it is not simply a matter of political will – it is about untangling centuries of legal precedent."
