Security audit of Sikh temples ordered

LAHORE:A meeting on law and order was held at civil secretariat chaired by Minister for Law, Parliamentary Affairs and Social Welfare Raja Basharat and attended by IG Shoaib Dastgir, Additional Chief Secretary Home Momin Agha, Commissioner Lahore Saif Anjum, Additional IG Special Branch, Additional IG CTD, DIG Operations and other officers concerned.

The meeting reviewed the overall situation of law and order across the province. Heads of law enforcement were briefed on security arrangements in the meeting while commissioners and RPOs briefed through video links. The law minister directed urgent measures to conduct security audits of Sikh shrines throughout the province and improve security situation.

He said the security of important public places, especially the synagogues and sanctuaries should be tightened and timely combing operations should be completed in sensitive places. Raja Basharat instructed the police to keep the CCTV cameras and other monitoring devices in working condition and keep a close watch on the suspects by enhancing night patrol.
