LAHORE
President PPP Central Punjab Mian Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo lauded General Raheel Sharif, Pakistan Army, Rangers and law enforcement agencies for their valuable contribution to implement the National Action Plan to root out extremism and terrorism from the country.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, Wattoo said those who were engaged in spreading rumours were the enemy of the people. Pakistan army is a highly disciplined, professional and committed entity therefore rumours have no chance to serve the purpose of the perpetrators, he maintained.
He added that the Army was rendering countless sacrifices under the Zarb-i-Azab military operation to implement the National Action Plan that had made big difference as the space for terrorists had shrunk and they were on the run.
He recalled that the PPP right from the beginning had been consistent in advocating the narrative that the terrorists had to be defeated with full force of the state and there was no point in wasting time in engaging them in futile negotiations.
The National Action Plan and the Zarb-i-Azab military operation were the vindication of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto’s advocacy of defeating terrorists on their turf as they were totally devoid of civility and reason and fond of barbarity to achieve their toxic objectives, he reminded.
He said the entire nation was behind the army and the international community was also appreciative of Pakistan Army’s achievements measuring up to breaking the back of terrorists in Fata and beyond.
He was full of praise for the Pakistan Army helping the flood victims adding the Army Chief’s recent visit to the flooded areas at Layya to express solidarity with the people was highly commendable.
Mian Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo also directed the PPP Punjab to help them in providing immediate relief and rehabilitation with honour and dignity.
