KARACHI: Pakistan’s Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi and his partner Gilles Muller from Luxembourg moved into the quarter-finals of Topshelf Open in the Netherlands on Tuesday.
Aisam and Muller, ranked 56th and 208th, respectively, overpowered the wildcard pair of Robin Hasse of the Netherlands and Benoit Paire of France 6-4, 2-6, 10-7 in the first round of men’s doubles in this ATP-250 championship.
Aisam, who has currently no singles ranking, also played singles event in this championship and lost to world number 119 Illya Marchenko of Ukraine 4-6, 7-6(6), 5-7 in the final qualifying round. Aisam had beaten Nicholas Monroe of the US 6-4, 5-7, 6-1 in the first qualifying round.
