QUETTA: Faizullah Agha FC Quetta, Afghan FC Pishin, Jallawan FC Khuzdar and Afghan FC Chaman have qualified for the semi-finals of Ufone Balochistan Football Cup, which will be played on Wednesday (today) here at Mali Bagh Stadium.
On Tuesday, Afghan FC Chaman beat Panjgur FC 3-0 in a one-sided contest. Dominating the game from the start, Amanullah scored the first goal during the first half to get his team in the leading position.
Abdul Rahim scored the second goal to increase Afghan FC’s lead. During the 73rd minute Sohrab scored the third goal. Faizullah Agha FC Quetta overcame Ballach FC Nushki 1-0 to complete the semi-final line-up.
On Monday, Afghan FC Pishin beat Bacha Khan FC Loralai 7-6 in penalty shootout. Scoring first at the 50 minute mark, Muhammad Saleem from Bacha Khan FC Loralai put his team ahead in the match.
In the 62nd minute, Sultan from Afghan FC Pishin scored the equaliser. The second match of the day was played between Tiger Raesani FC Quetta and Jallawan FC Khuzdar. Both teams tried very hard but were not successful in scoring until the full-time. In a sensational penalty shootout, Jallawan FC Khuzdar beat Tiger Raesani FC 5-4.
For the first time, the semi-finals will be played under floodlights. The final is to be played on Thursday (tomorrow).
