Use of drugs increasing among youngsters
Islamabad: The rave parties and other secret functions in various parts of the capital city are causing dramatic increase of drugs especially synthetic drug, popularly known as ecstasy, among the youngsters who want to get ‘demonic energy’ for these illegal social gatherings.
At least half of dozen WhatsApp groups are currently active that inform their members -- both males and females -- about the price, day, time and venue of the gatherings in which they are encouraged to use drugs that are sold on-the-spot by the organizers.
The synthetic drugs like Orange Owl, Dutch Lion, Love Doves, Yellow 007, Pink Pistols and Red Ferrari are provided to the participants of the rave parties at the price ranging from Rs1,500 to Rs4,500.
A couple of youngsters who attended a rave parties in the recent past revealed to this correspondent that they bought tickets for Rs3,500 each for a ‘mixed’ gathering at a location near Simli Dam Road.
“When we attended a rave party for the first time we did not have any idea about what was going to happen. But then we saw the youngsters dancing non-stop for hours like maniacs,” they said. They said now they feel that such events must be stopped otherwise the organized networks would ruin the lives of youngsters for their financial benefits.
