KARACHI: Zong announced on Thursday that it has selected Symantec Netbackup Appliances and Software Solution to enhance its customers’ data protection, according to a press release. Being one of the largest telecom operators in Pakistan, Zong was looking for a solution to deal with data expansion challenges, and at the same time to achieve stringent RTO and RPOs, the press release said.
Zong is the first and only operator in Pakistan to offer 4G services. The company holds more than 100 terabytes of business information, across 200+ servers over 3 data centres, according the press release. For the past few years, Zong has grown its subscriber base at a high and consistent rate each year, says Niaz A Malik, Zong’s chief information officer.
