A winter’s tale
Pakistan has not been able to overcome the problem of loadshedding of gas in the winter season. Despite the fact that gas is available in abundance in the country, the country is still unable to take advantage of it. Remote areas do not have proper gas supply system whereas the so-called developed areas suffer from the insufficient supply of gas. Decreased supply of gas starts from November and remain until Februrary. In winter, SNGPL is unable to meet the increasing demands of consumers. LNG supply and the Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline project by the PML-N-led government have unfortunately hadn’t add anything to keep up with the increasing demand.
The reason behind the issue is the inefficiency of the concerned department to control the commodity theft and distribution loss. The concerned authorities are requested to ease the struggles of the citizens of the city and come up with a permanent solution soon.
