Tribal elders pledge support to Mohmand admin
Seek provision of health, education facilities
GHALLANAI: The tribal elders in Baizai tehsil in Mohmand Agency on Monday assured the political administration of shouldering their collective responsibility and vowed to help the authorities maintain law and order in their areas.
They were speaking at a jirga of tribal elders hailing from Torkhel, Khanjar Killay, Chinaray, Jarobi Darra, Tora Tiga, Shamsi Killay and Watki village.
Malik Miskeen, Malik Zar Jan, Malik Sanobar, Malik Said Gul, Malik Ghulam Nabi, Malik Shah Gul and others spoke on the occasion.
The jirga members also offered fateha for those killed in the suicide bombing during Friday prayers at a mosque in Payekhan village in Anbar tehsil and prayed for the quick recovery of the injured.
They asked the government to carry out uplift work in Baizai as the tribespeople lacked health, education and other facilities. The tribal elders said they would keep a close eye on the movement of the suspected elements to avoid any untoward incident.
Meanwhile, the atmosphere in Mohmand Agency was still gloomy in the wake of the deadly blast in Anbar that left 36 people dead and 31 wounded. The people visited the residences of those, who lost near and dear ones in the explosion, to share their grief and offer condolences.
