Office guys who drove me crazy
I have worked with people who were cooperative and pleasing to be around.
But there were a few colleagues who always drove me to the final limit of madness, the unusual persons with some minor weirdness or annoying practice that made me wish for knocking my forehead against my computer screen.
The first kind of person was one who all the time sat in his chair and produced a sound of click, click with his ball-point pen to entertain himself.
Had he not produced the sound of click, click, how he would have filled his day? Next was the person who cleaned his desk at regular intervals, but forgot to tidy himself up. He chewed ‘paan’, trimmed nails, snapped pimples and even cleaned ears.
Then was the person glued to his cell phone calls, his loud voice was all the more sharp and distressing. Then was the man who blew his nose several times, had a coughing fit and even did a little sniffing. He was also fond of throat clearing. Next was the one who used to go to washroom every half an hour. I’m not sure how he got any work done.
Then there was the guy who took himself as a pop star. He was all the time humming something. He thought he had awesome voice. Next person was the one who was an embodiment of the most uncaring office worker. He munched at crispy potato chips at his desk and was a loud keyboard handler as he hit the keys too hard. And then there was the foot tapping, an edgy habit.
Then was the man whose nervous mouse-clicking practice was well-known.
But hey, at least he was aware of his bad habit, and he was working on it.
Conceivably, one could put up with these kinds of guys but the worst types were back stabbers, politicians, blamers and credit stealers.
A back stabber in my office stabbed me on my back with a hidden sweet knife. First was my old friend, second was my new colleague, and one my senior and another one was my junior. In front of me, they tried to show me by their manners that they were my best friends but at my back; they changed everything exactly opposite of what they always showed in front of me.
The second most important type involved in office politics was politician.
This breed of politicians is not only found in government offices but also in private ones. A politician in my office environment made the right noise at the right moment. He always complimented the boss and placed other coworkers in opposition to each other to stay on top of them and me. The third one was a blamer. The blamer always thrived to blame on me the mistakes he/she has done.
The next were the credit stealers. One was my coworker and another boss.
They always motivated me by saying that ‘you have got the potential and would ask me to do a certain task, but when I was waiting for receiving the appreciation for the work done, you will be astonished to know that they always took all the credit, making my face red.
So, if you ever have to work with the kind of people I have worked with, you should have a few bizarre habits too, and by-the way, try eating your lunch without passing the tongue over your lips.
