Outgoing Dutch ambassador’s role for sports promotion praised
ISLAMABAD: The Dutch ambassador to Pakistan, Henny de Vries, discussed sports development matters with Secretary IPC Mohyuddin Wani and President Pakistan Hockey Federation Tariq Bugti in Islamabad Wednesday.
The Ambassador visited the PHF camp office on a farewell visit before departing for Angola to take up a new assignment. During the meeting, she was commended by the Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination Division for her efforts in promoting sports, particularly hockey, in Pakistan.
The ambassador was praised for her personal involvement in promoting hockey in Pakistan. De Vries informed the Secretary IPC Division and the President of the Hockey Federation that she had briefed the incoming ambassador about the Dutch government’s commitment to promoting sports and hockey in Pakistan. She highlighted potential areas of collaboration, including creating an enabling ecosystem for hockey.
The ambassador expressed gratitude for the hospitality extended to her by the Pakistani people and sports fans during her tenure. De Vries’ tenure saw significant interactions between Dutch and Pakistani hockey teams.
