Gandapur’s lawyer Raja Zahoorul Hassan presented decision of Peshawar High Court
ISLAMABAD. Judicial Magistrate Mubashir Hassan Chishti on Saturday issued arrest warrants for Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur in the alleged liquor and illegal weapons recovery case and ordered the police to produce the accused in court on the next hearing.
During the hearing on Saturday, Gandapur’s lawyer Raja Zahoorul Hassan presented a decision of the Peshawar High Court and said that the court could not issue an arrest warrant for his client. He stated that Gandapur was on bail in all cases till September 23. He requested for giving a date for hearing in September.
The judge told the lawyer to wait for the order and adjourned the hearing for the time being.
Later, the court rejected Ali Amin Gandapur’s application for exemption from attendance and issued an arrest warrant and ordered the Bara Kahu police station SHO to arrest Gandapur and produce him in court on the next hearing. The court adjourned the case for hearing on July 21. A case was registered against Ali Amin Gandapur at the Bara Kahu police station.
In another case, the indictment proceedings in the audio-leak case against KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, currently under trial in the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Nasrum-Minallah Baloch, were postponed once again.
Despite the court summons, Gandapur did not appear once again, while co-accused Asad Farooq appeared in the court. On behalf of Ali Amin Gandapur, Raja Zahoorul Hassan advocate filed a petition to exempt his client from personal presence, saying that Gandapur had been granted bail by the Peshawar High Court till Sept 23.
The court adjourned the hearing till Sept 29. A case was registered against the KP chief minister and others at the Golra Police Station.
