BTS' 'Swim' scored major win at 2026 American Music Award
'SWIM' is released as the lead track of BTS' fifth studio album 'ARIRANG'
K-pop boy band BTS just marked their first win at the American Music Awards as their fifth studio album, ARIRANG's lead track, SWIM was crowned Best Song of the Summer.
The boyband, also known as the Bangtan Boys, beat Taylor Swift's Elizabeth Taylor, Harry Styles’ American Girls, PinkPantheress and Zara Larsson's Stateside, Alex Warren’s FEVER DREAM, Ella Langley's Choosin' Texas, Bella Kay's iloveitiloveitiloveit, Noah Kahan's The Great Divide, Tame Impala and JENNIE's Dracula, and SOMBR's Homewrecker.
BTS is also nominated for the Best Male K-Pop Artist Award and Artist of the Year at the annual event yet to be announced.
All members of BTS, including Jung Kook, J-hope, Jin, RM, SUGA, Jimin, and V, attended the award ceremony and received the award on the stage.
During the acceptance speech, the leader of the global pop sensation, RM said, “First and foremost, big shout out to ARMY. Thank you so much for giving all the love for ‘SWIM.’ When we made this, we had a lot of pressure, and were trying to figure out what kind of music felt the most like us right now. The only thing we believed then was that we have to keep challenging and keep moving forward."
It is pertinent to mention that back in 2021, the boyband won the Best Artist of the Year and they received their first ever AMAs for Top Social Artist in 2018.
