A mother of five was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Orangi Town on Tuesday in what police suspected might be a case of personal enmity.
The incident took place near Urban Hospital in Sector 15 of Orangi Town, within the jurisdiction of the Pakistan Bazaar police station. The victim, identified as 40-year-old Farida, wife of Riaz, was returning home after dropping her daughter at a bus stop when two unidentified gunmen opened fire on her and fled the scene.
Farida’s body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities. The police said her husband worked at a textile company. Investigators were reviewing CCTV footage from the area and collecting evidence to identify and apprehend the attackers. Further investigation is ongoing.
