How democracy dies
In any democratic state, institutions are meant to function independently, upholding justice and fairness. In Pakistan, however, growing political rivalry is eroding these values, turning institutions into tools of revenge against dissenting voices. Targeting individuals simply for their political leanings not only undermines democratic principles but also amounts to persecution of law-abiding, tax-paying citizens. Political differences must not justify institutional abuse. When institutions are manipulated to settle political scores, the nation suffers. We must rise above party lines and recognise that institutions should serve the country, not political agendas. Otherwise, we risk creating a nation where rivalry thrives and tolerance fades.
