Costco recalls multiple food items in Canada due to safety concerns
The affected products include frozen meals, baked goods, desserts and infant formula, according to notices posted on Costco’s website
Several food products sold at Costco stores across Canada have been recalled in recent weeks due to safety concerns including contamination risks and undeclared allergens.
The affected products include frozen meals, baked goods, desserts and infant formula, according to notices posted on Costco’s website and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.
Certain lots of Yakitori Chicken Fried Rice were recalled because of possible glass contamination.
“Out of an abundance of caution, Ajinomoto Foods North America is issuing a voluntary recall expansion of the Yakitori Chicken Fried Rice due to potential glass contamination,” a notice on Costco’s website states.
The recall affects products sold in Canada with best before dates between 9 September 2026 and 12 November 2026, as well as 24 November 2026 and 22 December 2026.
Ajinomoto Foods North America also recalled select lots of Shoyu Ramen with Chicken Bowls due to the possible presence of glass.
“Ajinomoto Foods North America, in cooperation with the USDA and CFIA, announced a voluntary recall of select lots of Shoyu Ramen with Chicken Bowls due to the potential presence of glass in the product,” the notice said.
Other recalled items include Discovery Kitchens Beef Cabbage Rolls due to possible rubber pieces and Delici Dubai Style chocolate mousse because it may contain undeclared allergens including cashew and macadamia nuts.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has also recalled Cheddar and Chive Artisan Scones due to mould and Kendamil infant formula over concerns about cereulide toxin, which can cause food poisoning symptoms such as nausea and vomiting.
