Iran confirms its reviewing latest US proposal through Pakistan mediation
The US and Iran have continued exchanging messages through Pakistani mediators as negotiations move forward
Iran is reviewing the latest response from the United States regarding a proposed ceasefire agreement, according to Iranian state-linked media reports on Wednesday.
Iran’s Nour News Agency reported that Washington and Tehran have continued exchanging messages through Pakistani mediators as negotiations move forward.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said discussions were being carried out “based on the original text of Iran’s 14 points”.
“Based on the original text of Iran’s 14 points, the exchange of messages has been carried out on several occasions,” Baghaei said, according to Nour.
“We have received the views of the American side and are reviewing them,” he added.
The remarks came during a visit to Tehran by Pakistan Interior Minister Mohsen Naqvi, as Pakistan continues efforts to mediate between the US and Iran.
The latest diplomatic push comes amid growing international pressure to avoid further escalation in the region after weeks of tensions involving Washington, Tehran and Israel.
Officials in Islamabad have positioned Pakistan as a key intermediary in the negotiations, with talks reportedly focused on ceasefire terms and broader regional security concerns.
