Lisa Rinna breaks silence on one 'humiliating' experience: 'Everyone was so mean'
Lisa Rinna opens up about one of her biggest regrets in her new book, You Better Believe I’m Gonna Talk About It
Lisa Rinna loves getting cosmetic procedures done but she also has some regrets.
In her recently released memoir, You Better Believe I’m Gonna Talk About It, Rinna opened up about getting one skin injectable ahead of the 2024 Fashion Trust Awards in Beverly Hills that she now laments.
Sharing the insight into how it actually happened, she wrote, “I went to somebody to get some Botox and the esthetician said to me, ‘I have this SKINVIVE, it's brand new – you're gonna love it! You put it on your face and it will act like it doesn't add any volume, it just gives you a glow.’”
After listening to convincing details, The Real Housewives of the Beverly Hills alum gave her approval to the procedure, which was only done around her cheeks.
However, things started to get worse for her when, “all of a sudden,” her “cheeks were like a squirrel gathering nuts” and she thought it may have been an allergy.
The disappointing results aggravated as she got the procedure just days after receiving Botox in her jaw to rectify her TMJ.
“Well, the combination of the Botox making my jawline atrophy, and SKINVIVE giving me volume, made me look freakish,” Rinna noted.
Her appearance at the Fashion Trust Awards in April 2024 received severe backlash. She penned, “Everybody put my picture up because my face did look different,” and so much so that influencers made videos comparing her before and after the procedure.
“Everyone was so mean about it. I was all over TikTok and all over every f---ing doctor's site,” the Dancing with the Stars alum stated.
Constant criticism made Rinna “immediately” reverse SKINVIVE, which helped her face to regain its previous state within days.
“Oh my God. It was really humiliating because I knew that it looked terrible. Fortunately, I'm an old battle axe at this point and I can take it," she wrote.
It is important to mention that SKINVIVE is “a gel implant or dermal filler that is injected in specific areas of facial tissue to add definition or reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles,” according to FDA.
