Pakistan to extend airspace closure for India by another month
NOTAM will be issued by Aviation Division before end of present term
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan will extend its airspace closure for India for another month next week.
India unilaterally closed the airspace for Pakistan on April 23 for a month and Pakistan responded in the same coin on the following day in the wake of tension after last month’s Pehalgam false flag operation where 26 tourists were killed. The restrictions are costing India heavily.
A NOTAM will be issued by the Aviation Division before the end of the present term. Highly placed sources told The News here Saturday that the decision would be announced in due process as no improvement has been noticed in the situation that forced Pakistan to take the action. The sources reminded that under the rules of International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), no member country could close its space for another more than a month in one go.
