Mechanism of providing swift assistance to needy patients to be improved

Islamabad:A significant meeting took place Tuesday in Islamabad between Federal Minister for Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety, Syed Imran Ahmed Shah, and Federal Minister for Health, Sardar Mustafa Kamal. The two ministers held detailed discussions on enhancing collaboration between their ministries to achieve shared welfare goals.

The meeting focused on introducing an integrated data-sharing mechanism aimed at promptly assisting poor patients, ensuring accurate identification of eligible individuals and timely support. Federal Minister for Health, Mustafa Kamal, stated that facilities in hospitals under the Ministry of Health are being improved to ensure that quality healthcare services reach lower-income segments of society. He emphasized that the provision of healthcare is a shared responsibility of the government, and all institutions must work together to achieve this.

On the occasion, Federal Minister Syed Imran Ahmed Shah stressed the need to bring all institutions under the Ministry of Poverty Alleviation into a unified national framework to improve the reach and effectiveness of the support system.

Additionally, the Federal Minister directed Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal to purchase wheelchairs for persons with disabilities to ease their mobility challenges. He also mentioned that, through collaboration with the Ministry of Health, Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal facilitation desks at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) and other government hospitals will be strengthened to ensure swift assistance to deserving patients. Both ministers instructed their respective teams to prepare a joint working paper identifying areas of mutual cooperation between the two ministries.

The meeting concluded in a cordial environment, with Federal Minister Mustafa Kamal expressing hope that this collaboration would bring meaningful improvement in the lives of the underprivileged.
