Gohar says PTI stands behind army against India
Conspiracy aimed to exploit Pahalgam attack to drive wedge between people and armed forces
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s intelligence sources reveal that following the Pahalgam incident, India launched a blame campaign against Pakistan with an apparent aim of creating a rift between the military and the public.
These informed sources said the Indian propaganda effort was designed to deepen political divisions within Pakistan, with the expectation that supporters of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) would also turn against their own military and its leadership. The conspiracy aimed to exploit the Pahalgam attack to drive a wedge between the people and the armed forces.
“India has failed miserably in its malicious attempt,” a senior official told The News, adding that the Pakistani nation, as always, stood united behind its armed forces.
The source said India had anticipated that PTI’s social media would join New Delhi’s anti-army and anti-Asim campaign, but this did not materialise. Like other political parties, the PTI leadership condemned India’s baseless accusations and affirmed that the nation stands united in the face of any foreign aggression.
Indian media has been targeting General Asim Munir more than any of his predecessors, which is part of Modi government’s conspiracy. India Today published an article containing a raft of allegations against the army chief.
PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, when contacted, said the PTI stands behind its army against India without any ifs and buts. He said the nation stand united against India. He explained that the PTI’s boycott is against the government’s briefing as our stance was that APC should be convened in view of the seriousness of the issue including the suspension of the Indus water treaty by India, which is an “act of war”.
Gohar, while referring to the latest Indian propaganda about alleged abuse of Imran Khan in Adiala jail, categorically said that it’s a fake story and evil design of India to divide Pakistani people but we shall stand united.
Not only a unanimous resolution was adopted in the Senate, representing all political parties including PTI and the federating units, against India, former prime minister and jailed PTI founder Imran Khan also strongly responded to India’s accusations.
He stated, “When the false-flag Pulwama operation occurred, we offered full cooperation to India, but no evidence was provided. As I predicted in 2019, history is repeating itself with the Pahalgam incident. Rather than investigating, the Modi government is once again blaming Pakistan.”
Khan continued, “Peace is our priority — but it should not be mistaken for weakness. Pakistan is fully capable of responding to aggression, just as it did in 2019. I have always emphasised the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination under UN resolutions.”
Frustrated over Imran Khan’s response and India’s failure to use Pakistan’s political divide in its own favour, Imran Khan’s X (formerly Twitter) account has also been blocked in India, along with others who voiced similar views.
