PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders’ participation in the recent Awami National Party's (ANP) Multi-Party Conference (MPC) on the proposed Mines and Minerals Bill 2025 has prompted strong disapproval from the party’s political committee.
PTI leaders Ali Asghar and Peshawar Region General Secretary Sher Ali Arbab participated in the moot.
According to sources, committee members voiced their objections in the party’s WhatsApp group. They stated that ANP leader Aimal Wali Khan had not only been consistently critical of PTI’s leadership but also held clear ideological differences with the party. The members said that Aimal Wali had repeatedly resorted to character assassination of the PTI founder and his family.
PTI Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chapter President Junaid Akbar told Geo News that he had sent the leaders to the conference to defend the party's stance and present its viewpoint on the bill.
He apologized for not taking the political committee into confidence, adding that he had already conveyed this in the WhatsApp group.
Meanwhile, PTI Peshawar Region General Secretary Sher Ali Arbab told Geo News that he would clarify his position if the political committee formally sought an explanation.
