Prince Harry’s ‘inconceivable’ hopes get a cold splash of water: ‘He’s desperate to play a prince in exile’
Prince Harry has been ridiculed for his apparent attempts at playing the ‘exiled prince’ role
Prince Harry’s life, which started with a silver spoon and a vast understanding of his own blue blood has taken a wide detour to the US, where he now resides with his wife Meghan Markle and children; Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
However, it does not appear that his new life lacks regrets because according to one royal commentator Rafe Heydel-Mankoo, that is precisely what could be plaguing the royal behind closed doors.
He shared these thoughts with GB News and they saw him admit, “I think it's quite clear that Prince Harry has many regrets about the life choices that have ended up with him being estranged from his homeland and from his family and from the role he most enjoyed: being a royal prince.”
Moreover, “I think that's why you're seeing him essentially trying to play the role of a prince in exile, with these pseudo-royal tours, as we've seen in Australia and Ukraine,” he admitted too.
The expert also said, “I think he realizes that the fulfilment he got from those hasn't been matched by anything he's done in America. And I think he's also realized, and they've both realized, that their prominence, their status, depends on their proximity to the royal family.”
After all “the more removed they are from the royal world and royal engagements, the less people are interested in them as people,” as has been observed by many a critics in their multi-year stint within US circles.
“And that's why they are clearly making more of an effort to style themselves and carry on activities as if they were still working members of the royal family,” he added too.
However, between his hopes and the reality of what is, Mr Heydel-Mankoo got rather candid and didn’t shy away from saying, “there's a world of difference between what Harry hopes will happen and what has any chance of happening. It's inconceivable that either the King or the Prince of Wales would ever open a door to Harry to return to the royal fold.”
