The Shah Latif police on Tuesday solved a murder case reported a few days ago and arrested two suspects, including the deceased's girlfriend.

According to the police, significant progress was made in the investigation into the murder of Asif Ali, whose body was found stuffed in a bag near a garbage dump. The suspects arrested were identified as Aliza alias Kanwal Batool and Maula Bakhsh.

The police said Ali was a close friend of Aliza, who allegedly conspired to kill him with her accomplice, Bakhsh. The two lured Asif to a house, where he was brutally murdered by being struck on the head with a heavy hammer. After the killing, the body was placed in a bag and dumped near a garbage site during the night. The suspects then fled the scene.

Using technical surveillance and other evidence, the police traced and arrested the suspects in an operation. During interrogation, Aliza reportedly confessed to her involvement in the murder plot. The suspects told police that they had ongoing personal disputes with the victim and decided to eliminate him. The police had also recovered the weapon used in the murder and other evidence related to the case.
