Islamabad:In a stunning revelation that has sent shockwaves through the capital, the diligent efforts of the Federal Capital Police have unearthed a deeply disturbing conspiracy, implicating former Superintendent of Police (SP) Arif Hussain Shah, his son Wasif Shah, and his brother-in-law in the brutal murder of Hamza Khan. Through meticulous investigation and unwavering pursuit of the truth, the intricate details of this heinous crime were brought to light when Arif Shah’s brother-in-law ultimately confessed to his involvement and unveiled the chilling sequence of events.

The relevant officers confirmed that SP (r) Arif Shah was involved in the killing of Hamza and the retired officer of the Islamabad police has been arrested with his son Wasif Shah. The investigation revealed that Hamza was deceitfully lured to his ancestral village of Khaki in Mansehra, where he was mercilessly killed. Subsequently, his body was clandestinely buried in a desolate area in a calculated attempt to conceal the crime.

The chain of events leading to this breakthrough began with a formal complaint lodged at the Aabpara Police Station by Mohammad Waqar Khan, son of Gul Khitab. Mr. Khan reported the disappearance of his brother, Hamza Khan on March 15th. The police registered a First Information Report (FIR) under Section 365 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC), initiating investigation. As the investigation progressed, the complainant explicitly expressed his suspicion towards retired SP Arif Shah and his son, Wasif Shah.

The investigation team identified those involved in the suspected kidnapping concluding the retired SP and his family members were likely central figures in both the abduction and the subsequent killing of the victim, Hamza.

The police apprehended the brother-in-law of the former SP for questioning. He ultimately succumbed and divulged the horrifying truth, confirming the direct involvement of the retired SP and his son in the murder.

Following this critical breakthrough, the Islamabad Police swiftly launched a search operation in Khaki village, Mansehra. Utilising the invaluable assistance of sniffer dogs, they located and recovered Hamza’s body, bringing a measure of closure to the grieving family. However, this crucial operation was met with significant and unwarranted resistance from the local police and villagers, underscoring the challenges faced by the Islamabad Police in their pursuit of justice. Despite these considerable hurdles, the determined officers persevered and successfully retrieved the remains of the deceased. Disturbingly, this is not the first instance of alleged criminal behaviour involving SP (r) Syed Arif Hussain Shah. Even during his tenure with the police force, a case was registered against him for the alleged murder of a female Islamabad police employee, casting a long shadow over his professional career.

The motive behind this murder has been identified as a financial dispute amounting to approximately 8 million rupees. Hamza, a 30-year-old, well-regarded employee of the Senate of Pakistan hailing from the scenic Nathia Gali, met his untimely demise in his ancestral home in Khaki, Mansehra. He had gone to meet Arif Shah on March 15th and had been unaccounted for since. The recovery of his body in Mansehra, facilitated by the deployment of sniffer dogs, marks a significant step towards justice.

Preliminary reports indicated that Arif Hussain Shah, his son Wasif Shah, his brother-in-law, and other accomplices allegedly conspired to murder Hamza over the business disagreement and subsequently buried his body in the nearby hills in a desperate attempt to conceal their crime. Arif Shah reportedly kept Hamza’s three mobile phones active before discarding them near the G-10 Metro Station in Islamabad.

The Abpara Police have successfully apprehended SP (r) Arif Hussain Shah and have obtained his physical remand for further investigation. Currently, a contingent of Islamabad Police is present in Mansehra alongside Hamza’s bereaved family, working towards the completion of necessary legal procedures. They are reportedly facing significant security challenges due to the non-cooperative stance of the local police and residents, highlighting the complexities and potential dangers involved in pursuing justice across jurisdictional boundaries.
