Milly Alcock makes big admission ahead of 'Supergirl'
Milly Alcock's confession is regarding the superhero genre movies
Milly Alcock is all set to play Supergirl. But before joining the franchise, she confessed a shocker.
That she is not being familiar with the superhero genre.
Neither Black Widow nor Captain Marvel nor Wonder Woman; she did not watch any of them.
"Which is probably not great,” Alcock tells Variety. “I should just lie!”
Elsewhere in the interview, the actress looks back at trolls who attacked her over her remarks.
She reflected on toxic obsession associated with women's bodies on the internet.
"Simply existing as a woman in that space is something that people comment on," she said in March.
"We have become very comfortable having this weird ownership of women’s bodies," the actress told Vanity Fair at the time.
Soon after her comments, a wave of criticism set off.
Reflecting on the outrage by trolls, Alcock shares, “I didn’t even say ‘men’ — I said 'people!'"
She continues, “And they got so angry. I was like, ‘You’re proving my point. You’re proving my point!’”
The House of the Dragon breakout star points out that most of the criticism came from trolls who are faceless.
“And it’s from a lot of people whose profiles have no photo, who are burner accounts."
"Or someone’s name and then ‘Dad of four, Christian', which is hilarious to me."
"But I mean, whose opinion do you really care about?" she adds.
"If you’re pissing the right kind of people off, you’re doing OK," Alcock concludes.
Supergirl bows out in cinemas on June 26.
