Five injured in Charsadda firing incident
CHARSADDA: At least five persons, including a passerby child, were injured during a land eviction operation in the Wardaga area in the jurisdiction of Sar Dheri Police Station on Tuesday.
Police officials said the operation was being carried out to vacate illegally occupied land on the orders of the Peshawar High Court. After the successful completion of the operation, the alleged occupants attacked the landowners, resulting in an exchange of fire between the two parties.
Among those injured were individuals identified as Mehboob, Attaur Rehman, Jahangir, Muhammad Ilyas, and a minor boy named Aziz who was passing by during the incident. All five were initially taken to the District Headquarters Hospital for treatment but were later shifted to Lady Reading Hospital in Peshawar due to their critical condition.
A heavy contingent of police reached the site following the incident. Authorities have registered a case and initiated further investigation.Meanwhile, Charsadda police recovered 25 stolen motorcycles and cash amounting to Rs.1 million during multiple operations. The police also arrested four suspects allegedly involved in a series of thefts reported over the past few months.
