LAHORE:Station House Officer (SHO) of Garhi Shahu police station, Hamza Nawaz Bhatti, was suspended and faced a departmental inquiry after allegedly misleading senior officers about his whereabouts while on duty. According to police sources, SHO Bhatti was assigned to Madhu Lal Hussain Darbar but failed to report to his post. Instead, he reportedly provided false information about his location through wireless communications.

The incident came to light when SP Civil Lines Division Dr Abdul Hannan spent two hours attempting to locate the missing officer, making repeated attempts to contact him via wireless and mobile phone.

After failing to establish Bhatti's actual location, SP Hannan reported the matter to DIG Operations Lahore Muhammad Faisal Kamran, who immediately ordered Bhatti's suspension and initiated an inquiry. DIG Kamran expressed strong displeasure over the incident and directed the suspended officer to report to Police Lines pending investigation.
