Islamabad : President of the Islamabad Developer Association and former president of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan, highlighted the critical need for accelerating in-house production and reducing dependency on imports during his visit to Gujranwala Expo 2025 - Pakistan’s premier industrial and B2B trade exhibition, says a press release.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan stated, “The backbone of a strong economy lies in self-reliance. It is time for Pakistan to invest more aggressively in domestic manufacturing, innovation, and industrial capacity to reduce the outflow of foreign exchange and boost exports. Events like Gujranwala Expo are vital platforms that demonstrate the strength and potential of our local industries.”

Gujranwala Expo 2025, known as Pakistan’s Mega Industrial Event, showcases the best of ‘Made in Gujranwala’ products and manufacturing excellence across various sectors, including home appliances, ceramics, textiles, engineering goods, and more. The event has drawn widespread participation from foreign diplomats, trade delegations, local businesses, and industrialists.

Sardar Yasir praised the resilience and craftsmanship of Gujranwala’s industrial community, stating that such exhibitions foster global visibility for local manufacturers and create opportunities for trade, partnerships, and joint ventures.

He further urged policymakers to facilitate industrial growth through reforms, access to finance, skill development, and infrastructure support - especially for SMEs that are the lifeline of Pakistan’s economy.
