KOHAT: The personnel of police and Counter-Terrorism Department on Tuesday carried a targeted operation in the mountainous boundary area in Kohat and Karak and dismantled hideouts of terrorists.
According to Regional Police Officer Kohat Region, Abbas Majeed Marwat, the operation was carried out under the leadership of District Police Officer Karak, Shahbaz Illahi in the Bakola Bodina mountainous area of Bahadurkhel against terrorists.
He said the terrorists’ hideouts were set on fire and destroyed.
These hideouts were used by Commander Kaleemullah and his associates, who were involved in attacks on Bahadurkhel police checkpoint, bank robbery in Isak Khumari, and assaults on police posts. From these locations, the terrorist group planned and launched organised attacks against the security forces.
This targeted operation against terrorists included the participation of SP Investigation, SP CTD, Rescue 15 Squad, Elite Commandos, Tracking Wing, drones, and a large force equipped with light and heavy weapons.
During the operation, police teams set up checkpoints at Anar Banda, Tangi Dog, Neki Pul, and Sam Banda to inspect suspicious individuals. The police successfully reached the terrorist hideouts and set them ablaze.
