Ethiopia, Pakistan agree to promote parliamentary diplomacy
Islamabad: The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (FDRE) and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan on Tuesday agreed to promote parliamentary diplomacy for further enhancing bilateral, regional and multilateral cooperation in diverse areas of economy, trade, investment, aviation, climate change, peace and security, culture and tourism, says a press release.
To this end, a comprehensive discussion was held during a meeting between Dr. Jemal Beker Abdula, Special Envoy and Ambassador Extraordinary of the FDR Ethiopia to Pakistan, and the Chairman of Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani.The two sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthen parliamentary relations especially by exchanging high level delegations, and establishing a Pakistan-Ethiopia Parliamentary Friendship Group in the Senate of Pakistan.
He invited the Chairman Senate on a Single Country Exhibition being hosted by the Government of Ethiopia, and organized by the Government of Pakistan in Addis Ababa on May 2025.
