KOHAT: A grand jirga was held here to discuss and maintain law and order in the district.Major General Zulfiqar Ali Bhatti, GOC 9th Division Kohat, was the chief guest of the event, which was attended by key officials, including Provincial Minister for Agriculture Major (R) Muhammad Sajjad Barakwal, MNA Shahid Khattak, Commissioner Kohat Division Syed Motasim Billah Shah, RPO Kohat Abbas Majeed Marwat, Deputy Commissioner Karak Shakeel Ahmed Jan, DPO Karak Shahbaz Elahi, along with local elders and scholars.
During the jirga, the elders shared their concerns and put forward valuable suggestions to improve the security situation in Karak.Addressing the participants, MNA Shahid Khattak and Agriculture Minister Muhammad Sajjad Barakwal welcomed and thanked the officials for their presence.
Speaking on the occasion, GOC Kohat emphasized that every possible step would be taken to ensure lasting peace in Karak. He urged people to avoid falling for negative propaganda and unverified news on social media, stressing the need for strengthening trust between the public and institutions. He also commended the efforts of the civil administration and police in maintaining order in the district and called for public cooperation in ensuring stability.
