Preparation of text of official speech for president’s address has been started for which main points have been determined
ISLAMABAD: At the beginning of the new parliamentary year, the government will announce generous incentives for salaried and low-income groups, which will be incorporated into the government’s second annual budget.
The preparation of the text of official speech for the president’s address has been started for which the main points have been determined.
The president’s speech will highlight the performance of the first year of the government. Sources said that both the achievements and challenges of the government will be openly described. The government’s progress in the economic sector and successes in the diplomatic field will be explained in detail.
Sources said the government has also sought details of last year’s performance and achievements from key ministries, most of which have sent their briefs to the authorities concerned. It was learnt that the address would not be prolonged at the wish of President Asif Ali Zardari.
The joint sitting of both the Houses will be adjourned sine die along with the President’s address on March 10. At the same time, the president will convene the sessions of the National Assembly and the Senate for the new parliamentary year separately in the same week. The meetings will continue for at least a week during which the president’s address will be discussed among other activities.
