HYDERABAD: Prof Dr Khalilur Rehman Khoumbhati, who was serving as the pro-vice chancellor of the University of Sindh (SU) Laar Campus Badin, has officially assumed the charge of the acting vice chancellor (VC) of the SU, Jamshoro.
The outgoing VC, Prof Emeritus Dr Muhammad Siddique Kalhoro, handed over the charge to Prof Khoumbhati in a ceremony on Wednesday. The charge handover ceremony was attended by Pro-Vice Chancellor of the Main Campus Prof Dr Abdul Sattar Shah, Registrar Prof Dr Mushtaque Ali Jariko, Director Dr MA Kazi, and other academics and administrative heads.
After assuming the charge, Prof Khoumbhati prayed for the betterment and welfare of the institution. Faculty members and officers gathered in large numbers to congratulate him on his new role.
Speaking on the occasion, he stated that he would continue the commendable policies of his predecessor Dr Kalhoro while ensuring stricter measures in financial matters to guarantee transparent utilisation of the university’s resources. Following the ceremony, the acting VC visited the mausoleum of the founding VC of the varsity, Allama II Kazi, where he laid a wreath and offered Fateha.
