ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has restored the membership of 18 members of the Senate, National and provincial assemblies after they submitted their annual financial statements.

According to details, the ECP has reinstated membership of 18 more lawmakers after they submitted their statements of accounts and liabilities, being a legal requirement every year. The legislators whose membership has been reinstated include one senator, two National Assembly members, 12 Punjab Assembly members, one Sindh Assembly member and two KP Assembly members.

It should be remembered that the ECP had suspended the membership of 139 members of parliament for not submitting their financial statements. However, so far 45 members who have provided their financial statements have been reinstated.
