LAHORE:Chief Minister Khelta Punjab Games have great significance for the development of sports culture among the younger generation. These games are playing key role in promoting healthy trends among youth of the province.
DG Youth Affairs Punjab Khizar Afzaal Chaudhry said this while presiding over a meeting at the National Hockey Stadium on Friday. Director Admin Dr M Kaleem and Director Youth Affairs Rana Nadeem Anjum attended the meeting in person while all the divisional sports officers of the province participated through video link.
Addressing the meeting, Khizar Afzaal said that strict monitoring is being done for transparency in Khelta Punjab Games competitions. “Reports of Khelta Punjab Games competitions are being taken from all Divisional Sports Officers on daily basis”. He further said that CM Khelta Punjab Games competitions are in progress at all divisional headquarters of the province quite successfully. “The Khelta Punjab Games competitions are being organised in accordance with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz with an aim to involve maximum number of talented male and female athletes of the province in multiple healthy competitions”. Meanwhile, Ittefaq Volleyball Club Sheikhupura edged out Govt College Volleyball Club Sheikhupura by a narrow margin of 25-22 in the title clash of Khelta Punjab Games division level boys’ volleyball event at the Nishtar Park Sports Complex (NPSC) Gymnasium Hall.
