TANK: Four children of a family electrocuted when they touched a live electricity wire in Gara Mitho area near Tank city on Saturday.
Tanveer Khan, the deputy commissioner Tank, said that four children lost their lives due to electric shock caused by a fallen power line in the nearby area of Garah Mitho.
The deceased children, he added, hailed from the same family with three being brothers and one being a cousin.
They were the grandchildren of Jangi Khan Jatt and the son of Bashir Jatt and the ages of the deceased children ranged from 10 to 12 years.
Local residents reported that thieves had stolen the main power lines four days ago, leaving the ends of the stolen wires on the ground.
They had repeatedly informed WAPDA and PESCO Tank about the stolen power lines, but no action was taken. They said the children were grazing cattle when the tragic incident occurred.
